How St. Petersburg Epoxy Flooring Works

St. Petersburg Epoxy Flooring puts resin coatings on concrete across St. Petersburg and the rest of Pinellas County. That means garage floors, chip and flake floors, polyaspartic systems, metallic epoxy for interior rooms, commercial and restaurant floors, and pool deck and lanai resurfacing. Concrete is all we coat; wood decks, tile and vinyl plank are outside what we do.

Most failed floors we are asked about trace back to the same few causes: a slab that was never ground, moisture rising through the concrete, a topcoat that could not handle sunlight, or a coat rolled out on a humid evening when the slab was close to the dew point. Our process is built to avoid those mistakes, and we explain it before you commit to anything.

What happens from first call to finished floor

  • Visit and measure. At your property we take measurements and study the concrete for oil, paint, old sealers, cracks, spalling at the door and evidence of past water intrusion.
  • Test. Every slab gets a moisture test. If the space flooded, we also check for salt residue.
  • Written quote. You get the system by name, each coat, the prep steps, the finish and the total. Should the slab reveal a surprise mid-job, the change goes on paper and nothing proceeds until you sign off.
  • Prep. We diamond grind the slab right up to the walls and fill cracks, chipped joints and low spots before the first coat.
  • Check the conditions. Ahead of every coat, we log air temperature, humidity and the dew point. If the readings are wrong, we wait or come back another day.
  • Hand-off. You get foot-traffic, furniture and vehicle times worked out from the product we used and that day's weather.

Straight answers about your slab

Some concrete should not be coated yet. A garage that still floods in storms, an active crack that is still shifting, or a slab still drying out after a flood will cause trouble under any coating. If we find one of those, we tell you during the estimate, so you are not paying for a coating that is doomed.

We work in owner-occupied homes, rentals, condos and commercial buildings. If your association or landlord needs to approve the work or set the work hours, we can provide product information and a written scope for them.
